On the Table Hopes to Get Friends, Family and Neighbors Together

How do you inspire change? Kind of a lofty question, right?

We all know change can be difficult – sometimes, we hide (or run) from it. Or we simply ignore the fact that change is necessary.

But change can be wonderful, too. Especially once you realize that even simple actions can inspire significant change. It could be helping a neighbor change a flat tire; or buying coffee for the stranger in line next to you. Simple actions can make a difference.

Take On The Table, for instance. It’s a new initiative we’ve spearheaded here at the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. It’s an incredibly simple concept with the potential to create a major impact. On The Table invites you to join friends, family or colleagues on Wednesday, October 24 for a meal to discuss the issues impacting the community and meaningful ideas on how to address them.

It could be a conversation over coffee with coworkers, lunch with friends, dinner with your family or drinks and appetizers with a community group. You have to eat anyway, right? Might as well make it meaningful!
