Community Foundation Provides $250K in Matching Grant Funds for Ten Nonprofit Endowments

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (February 1, 2016) – The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties is proud to announce ten winners of the Forever Arts & Culture Endowment Challenge.

The Forever Arts & Culture Endowment Challenge provides $250,000 in grants from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Fund at the Community Foundation. Each organization below will receive a dollar for dollar matching grant of $25,000 to establish a permanent endowment fund at the Community Foundation:

Center for Creative Education
Centre for the Arts at Mizner
Elliott Museum/Historical Society of Martin County
Loggerhead Marinelife Center
Loxahatchee River Historical Society
Palm Beach Symphony Society
Sandoway House Nature Center
The Arts Council, Inc.
Young Singers of the Palm Beaches
Zoological Society of the Palm Beaches

Organizations were chosen based on institutional readiness, financial stability, and fundraising maturity.

“What really stood out about the winning applications were signs of a strong Board of Directors committed to long-term stability and planning for the future,” says Renee Constantino, Vice President of Community Investment at the Foundation.

“The challenge helps us increase the conversation about the importance of endowment and continue building nonprofit capacity,” said Bradley Hurlburt, President & CEO at Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties.

Endowments provide an annual income source and help build a stable financial future. With the Community Foundation, nonprofits benefit from the Foundation’s 43-year history of adhering to donors’ wishes of building long-term, revenue producing assets that will benefit the community forever.

Other nonprofits with permanent funds at the Foundation include Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Dreyfoos School of the Arts, Easter Seals Palm Beach, Martin & St. Lucie, Families First of Palm Beach County, Florida Council on Economic Education, Gale Academic Leadership and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
