Community Foundation Scholarships 

The Community Foundation is one of the largest providers of scholarships in the two county region. We have nearly 100 scholarship funds, established by donors who are committed to education, and often named in the memory of a loved one.  Together, we have awarded $10.5 million in scholarship grants since 1983, and helped 1,923 students fufill their college dreams.

Listed below are our scholarship funds and their eligibility requirements. All scholarships are based on financial need, unless otherwise noted. Click on the fund name to learn more about our amazing donors.

Claire B. Schultz Memorial Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from any Palm Beach or Martin County high school.
•Restricted to one or two-year scholarships. 
•Funds to be used for tuition only.
•Available for deserving academic students, with a preference toward handicapped or minority students.

Pundit Mulchand and Janki Devi Sharma Scholarship Fund

Open to: 
•Graduating high school senior from any Palm Beach or Martin County high school.
•Have high school grade point average of at least a 2.00 on 4.00 scale. 
•For colleges/universities or vocational schools. Will seek qualified applicant whose parents are first-generation immigrants.
•The scholarship is also open to a person with "Asian Indian" heritage. 
•Demonstrate financial need.

Peter Jay Sharp Foundation Scholarship Fund for Conservation/Environment Studies

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from public or private Palm Beach County High School pursuing an environmental related degree. 
•Demonstrate extracurricular activities in the areas of environmental projects.
•Be a U.S. Citizen and must maintain a 3.0 while in college.
•Not based on need.
•The Scholarship is awarded every two years at a minimum amount of $10,000 per scholarship.

Tara Sheridan Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating Palm Beach county high school seniors involved in community activities and based on financial need.

Myrna Abelman Siegel Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from Olympic Heights High School. Recommended by the Chair of the Journalism or English Dept.
•Student should be pursuing a career in journalism, public relations or writing. 
•Active participation in school activities related to course study. 
•Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA while in high school and demonstrate financial need.

Dan Smith Dairy Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from Lake Worth High School.
•Demonstrate financial need.
•Maintain a C average or better while in high school.

Beverly Sommer Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from any Palm Beach or Martin County high school.
•Should be involved in extracurricular activities.
•Must have a 2.5 GPA or better while in high school and a C average in college and demonstrate financial need. 

Lance Corporal Ryan J. Sorensen, USMC Liberty Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Boca Raton Community HS graduate, essay of 500 - 1000 words on personal sacrifice as a key to liberty required.
•GPA minimum of 2.5.
•Based on financial need.

Ann E. Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Preference to a graduating high school senior from Forest Hill High School. 
•Preference for student demonstrating interest in music, possibly being in the Forest Hill band or chorus. 
•Prefer a four-year scholarship. 

Robert Glen Stern Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Student graduating from a Palm Beach County high school and is a Palm Beach county resident.
•Has demonstrate they have faced challenges in life. 
•Must have a minimum of a 3.0 in high school. 
•Must be a U.S. citizen or submit proof of alien registration. 
•Based on financial need.

St. Mary's Extended Education Fund

Open to:
•Must be a St. Mary's R. C. Church parishioner or a student acceptable to the committee at St. Mary's.
•Must be a graduating senior or adult returning to school who is a resident of Pahokee.
•Can be used at college/university or vocational schools. Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college. 
•Demonstrate financial need


Sunburst Foundation Community Scholarship Fund

Open to: 
•Graduating high school minority senior from Palm Beach or Martin County
•Students graduating from Atlantic, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lake Work, Olympic Heights, Spanish River, and West Boca High School are not eligible to apply for this scholarship through the Community Foundation but may apply through the Sunburst Foundation. 
•Must declare a major in engineering, computer science, chemistry, physics, biology, botany, mathematics, oceanography, geology, pre-dental, pre-medical, pre-veterinary, nursing, astronomy, ecological sciences, pharmacy or zoological sciences.
•Must maintain a 3.0 GPA while in college. Demonstrate financial need.

Trimble Scholarship for Martin County Fund

Open to:
•Graduating senior from a Martin County high school, preferably from Indiantown.
•Student may choose either a traditional or non-traditional technical training which leads to a certificate or degree in chosen field.
•Demonstrate financial need.

Arthur C. Tilley Memorial Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from any Palm Beach or Martin County high school. 
•Must have "C" average or better in HS. Based on financial need. 
•Attend 2 or 4-year college or university with preference for students pursing traditional or non-traditional tech training leading to a cert or degree in chosen field.

Trimble Scholarship for Martin County Fund

Open to:
•Graduating senior from any Martin County high school who maintained a 3.0-3.5 GPA while in high school.
•Must participate in extracurricular activities.
•Based on financial need.

Roberta and Stephen R. Weiner Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from Palm Beach or Martin County high school.
•A demonstrated interest in continuing their education with traditional or non-traditional technical as well as a standard college degree.
•Demonstrate financial need.
•Show favorable references from guidance counselor, teachers and/or others.

The Weitz Company Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•High school senior graduating from a Palm Beach or Martin county high school or child of employees of the Weitz Company, Florida Division graduating, regardless of residence. 
•Can go to college or vocational school with a major or emphasis in a construction related field.
•Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better in high school. 
•Must be a United States citizen.
•Demonstrate financial need. Student will be required to repay the scholarship if term is not completed. 
•Available to adult students returning to school.

Rear Admiral Philip A Whitacre

Open to:
•Limited to PBC residents under 25 years old for undergrad.
•Strong evidence of community service. 
•Scholarship will cover educational expenses including tuition and books but excluding living and transportation expenses. 
•Not for Tech or Trade schools.
•Demonstrate financial need. 
•Preference giving to applicants who have served or parents have served in the Navy with honorable discharge. 
•Must be willing to speak as a volunteer (at least 10 hours) at one of the following: Planned Parenthood PBC, Max Planck, PB Opera, PB Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Historical Society of PBC, PBC Chamber of Commerce, or PB Rotary.

Friends of the Gerald A. Williams, Esq. Law Academy

Open to:
•Graduate of the Gerald A. Williams Esq. Law Academy at Palm Beach Lakes High School.
•Must be a first generation scholar with demonstrated financial need and must attend an accredited public college or university in FL.

WILLIAMSON-PIONEER Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior attending a public or priavet school in Palm Beach County.
•Must demonstrate community involvement and show financial need.

Ralph O. Wood Memorial Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from any Palm Beach or Martin County high school.
•Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while in high school.
•Must participate in extracurricular activities and show financial need.

Dave Yanis Scholarship Fund

Open to:
•Graduating high school senior from any public or private high school in Palm Beach or Martin or Broward County or adult returning to school.
•Student should be a Russian immigrant or a child or grandchild of a Russian immigrant, with a preference for a student of the Jewish faith. 
•Can go to college/university or vocational school. 
•Must maintain a 2.0 while in college. 
•Demonstrate financial need.
