Impact 100 Palm Beach County’s Growing Membership Enables Awarding Grants in Five Categories

 

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (August 30, 2016) – Impact 100 Palm Beach County (PBC) is excited to announce a new grants policy that benefits nonprofit organizations serving southern Palm Beach County.

Each year that membership reaches 500 members or more, Impact 100 PBC willl now award a $100,000 grant in each of the five focus areas of arts & culture, education, environment, family, and health & wellness.

“Our membership grows each year and Impact 100 PBC is optimistic it can sustain member numbers of over 500,” says Helen Ballerano, co-president of Impact 100 PBC. “We strive to touch as many lives as possible in southern Palm Beach County and we are grateful for the ability to award grants in each category now every year.”

Impact 100 Palm Beach County is entering its sixth year and has awarded over $1.6 million to nonprofits that serve local communities from Lake Worth Road south to the Broward County line.

In 2016, 532 women made a $1,000 donation to become an annual member of Impact 100 Palm Beach County. Each year the group pools members’ gifts in order to make $100,000 grants to deserving charities in the categories of education, environment, arts & culture, family, and health & wellness.

The 2016 $100,000 grant recipients:

  • The American Association of Caregiving Youth,
  • Delray Students First,
  • Alzheimer’s Community Care, Inc.,
  • The YMCA of South Palm Beach County,
  • Camelot Community Care, Inc.

Two finalist organizations, the Florida Atlantic University Foundation and Flamingo Clay Studio of Lake Worth each received a $16,000 grant to further their missions.

Letters of Inquiry for the 2017 grants will open in mid-September and a workshop is scheduled for interested nonprofits on September 29th.
