Community Foundation Highlights Impact 100 at Boca Luncheon

BOCA RATON, FL (November 25, 2013) – More than 50 guests gathered at the Boca Raton Resort & Club on Nov. 19 for a luncheon and discussion with Brad Hurlburt, the new president  and CEO of the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. The Foundation is hosting a series of luncheons around Palm Beach and Martin counties this season designed to educate donors and supporters about the ways the Community Foundation assists causes and organizations in order to build stronger, healthier communities.

Guests at the luncheon shared stories about how the Community Foundation has impacted their personal lives. Tandy Robinson, co-founder and board member of Impact 100 Palm Beach County discussed the role the Community Foundation has played in the women’s giving circle. The group was founded in 2011on a national model that every member gives $1,000 annually, their contributions are pooled, and one nonprofit is selected by majority vote to receive a $100,000 grant. The group’s goal is to support new, innovative activities that impact the community. Last year, Impact 100 awarded two $100,000 grants to Equine Assisted Therapies of South Florida and The Women of Tomorrow. The Community Foundation manages the group’s funds and provides grant making support.

Guests in attendance included Community Foundation board chair Deborah Pucillo; board members Larry J. Miller and Lisa Mulhall; Cindy Krebsbach; Katherine and David Dickenson; Lisa Morgan; James Ballerano; Susan Diener; and Peg Greenspon.

Upcoming luncheons will take place in Wellington and Jupiter. For more information, visit www.yourcommunityfoundation.org.
