We are certified in compliance with National Standards for Community Foundations by the Council on Foundations. This assures you that we meet the highest ethical and operational standards.
For many years, we have actively participated in national and state philanthropic associations. This demonstrates our commitment to professionalism, collaboration and best practices in philanthropy.
The Community Foundation meets National Standards for operational quality, donor service and accountability in our sector. This is important to you because the certification assures the utmost in transparency, donor accountability, fundraising, grantmaking and financial practices.
Administered by the Council on Foundations, National Standards guide community foundations in establishing legal, ethical and effective operational practices that serve as blueprints for internal development and benchmarks for external assessment.
The National Standards Seal indicates that we have met the most rigorous standards in philanthropy. It affirms our commitment to financial security, transparency and accountability. It says that our grantmaking includes an open, competitive process designed to address the changing needs of our community. It also confirms our history of honoring donors’ wishes—to support the arts, education, conservation/preservation, health issues, expand literacy, feed children—and support countless other important causes.
To receive confirmation of National Standards compliance, the Community Foundation submitted its organizational and financial policies and procedures to a rigorous peer review.
We are active members of the Council on Foundations, an association of more than 2,100 grantmaking organizations and corporations.
We participate on many levels with the Florida Philanthropic Network, a statewide association of grantmakers working to strengthen philanthropy through research, education and public policy.
