What is your dream for your future? Are you a dedicated student? An exceptional athlete? A talented technician or committed community volunteer? Have you overcome considerable obstacles? The Community Foundation may be able to help you use your talents, abilities and passions to pursue your higher education dreams.

We offer a scholarship program that each year helps students from Palm Beach and Martin counties pursue their goals at colleges, universities, and trade or technical schools after high school graduation. Students are selected through a competitive application process and applications are due each year by February 1.

All scholarships have been established by generous local individuals, families, organizations, and private foundations. Whether honoring loved ones or helping students from a particular high school or community, each scholarship expresses a deep belief in the power of education to help young people achieve their dreams. Click to view the list of the scholarship funds. In 2011, the Community Foundation awarded 106 local students attending college $730,000 in scholarships. Scholarships ranged from $1,000 to $30,000.

Suggested Timeline for 2011-2012 Academic Year Scholarships

November 1, 2011  - Online Scholarship application process begins
November 2011

- Start your online application

- Prepare personal statement and essays
- Request letters of recommendation
- Gather 2011 financial documents to complete       FAFSA
 

December 2011 - Complete FAFSA
- Request  transcripts
February 1, 2012 Deadline:
- Deadline to submit online application and ALL required support materials
March  2012

- Committee selections made

- Emails will be sent to students selected to attend interview
- Denial notification emailed to applicants not selected

 

April 2012  - Interviews scheduled
May 2012   
- Awards will be announced
September 1 thru October 12, 2012  - Fall semester checks mailed to recipient’s school upon receipt of required documents
December 1, 2012 thru January 11, 2013
