Ideas & Action

As one of the largest community foundations in Florida, the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties helps hundreds of donors with their philanthropy and awards millions in grants and scholarships each year.  We are committed to helping donors understand the complex landscape of philanthropy, connect to each other, and receive the latest information on the needs of our region. We seek the best ideas and proposals from our nonprofit partners and help our donors take action on that issue through their generosity. We provide broad community leadership and support dialogue in our region on emerging challenges and collective solutions.
 

Right now, the Community Foundation is focusing on issues related to Shelter & Affordable Housing,  Alleviate Hunger Initiative, and Water: Protection & Conservation through our Leadership Fund.
 

As our region’s center for philanthropy, we have provided helpful, local insight in our annual Nonprofits & The Economy report conducted in partnership with Allegany Franciscan Ministries and Quantum Foundation. We have pioneered the use of technology to help inform, inspire and impact our community through YourPBC.org, Palm Beach County’s digital public square. In response to the economic downturn we created the Safety Net Fund to address the rising needs for food, shelter, healthcare and childcare and, in the future, provide the needs that may emerge in times of disaster.
 

As the first green certified nonprofit in the nation, we have led by example and supported Nonprofits Going Green and green schools. As your community foundation, we are continually seeking the best ideas and ways to take action that meet critical needs and improve the quality of life of our region.
