Community Foundations started in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914. Spreading rapidly in the 1920s and 1930s, there are more than 700 community foundations in the United States today. Community Foundations came late to Florida, starting in the 1960s and growing quickly in the 1970s.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties was established in 1972 and is one of the oldest and largest foundations in Florida. We administer charitable funds for our donors to support the needs of Palm Beach and Martin counties.
